i tau byk entry dlm blog ni about my experience g berjln/holiday sna sni merata2. d recent one my trip to Singapore. if nk kira kekerapan i g holiday/berjln2, emmm... sejak dh kerja, every year i amik cuti g holiday. other than g holiday, d only chance i get utk feel2 g berjln/holiday is when i attend a seminar/cnference. people would say that i'm lucky to b able 2go on a holiday/seminar/conference merata2. eh, tp kn, ada org yg lg beruntung dr i la, sethn smpi byk2 kali g meeting kt oversea... kalo lbh dr 1X, kira byk la tu kn =)

tp pasport i byk cop indonesia je, hehehe. every year dr 2008 smpi 2010 i g indon. ayahnde pn ckp, g la tmpt len lk, jgn la g indon je. lpstu kenkwn/family pn de ckp kt i, "asyik2 g indon je". ats sbb tu la, 2011 dh x g indon lg. hahaha... tipu ;) bkn x g indon cz dpt those remarks from my father/family/frens. tp cz 2011 i de plan lain. & 2011 py plan nk g Singapore xjd & ditunda to 2012.

"seronok ke g jln?"

mmg la seronok, dowhhh!!!! pantang org ajk berjln (makcik2, sedara mara, kenkwn), cnfrm i x tolak (kalau ms tu mmg berkemampuan la). d fact is, i mmg sukaaaaa berjln. sukaaaaa g holiday. sukaaaaa nk g cuti2. memndgkn blom lg jmp jejaka yg i leh pggl sang suami, maka byknye g berjln2/holiday dgn frens. nt bila dh jmp calon sang suami, harus la calon tu kna sukaaaaa buat pasport. eh, salah... kna la dia terima fakta bhw i mmg suka g holiday/berjln2 (owhhhh, sgt berhrp dpt jmp calon who can accommodate my need 2go on a holiday & dia kna join i g holiday gk. amiiiin). hehehe... ok, sila pause mode gatal. *blush*.

"apa yg seronok?"

seronok la dpt tgk tmpt org. dpt learn new culture. dpt try new food. dpt experience different weather. u'll b exposed 2many things when u go travelling/holiday actually. dats 1 way how u learn about life. walaupn cuma g attend seminar je kt Penang & dok bersantai petang2 kt tepi laut sorg2 (sedih kn bersantai sorg2 kt tepi laut, huhuhu), or g Syria & merasakan yg Syria tu berhawa bercuaca dingin yg leh wt org yg xtahan akn terberdarah hidung cz angin dingin tampar terpa muka memanjang, mahupun berkerut2 muka tahan ketakutan ms naik angkut kt Indon, semua tu experience best. nikmat dunia. bersyukur for everything yg allah bg yg membolehkn i g melancong/travel tiap thn.

thn ni, 2012 ni, after my trip to Singapore, merasakn yg prlu slowdown sket aktiviti berjln2. mengetahui keadaan ati yg x cukup kental menahan nafsu utk g berjln2/holiday, mari la kita set jam randik & see how long i can last :)

2012's trip - Singapore (Pt. 5)

ok, here's d final part of my trip to Singapore. gonna give d guides based on my observation/experience during d trip.

getting around SG

u can choose 2walk or take d MRT/buses/taxi if u want 2go around SG. we didn't take d taxi cz MRT & bus dh cukup bgs for us. & we did a lot of walking around as well. we bought d Singapore tourist pass for 3days for SGD34. don't worry, u'll get ur refund (SG10) when u return d ticket/pass after ur 3rd day. so basically d card/pass just cost u SGD24 je & u can take bus/MRT/LRT to any stations, banyak2 kali pn xpe. if dh terslh turun station, no worries. no need 2buy different card. just use d same pass & u can get down kt station yg septtnye. see?!! satu kaedah pnjimatan if anda mmg yakin akn gna MRT/LRT/buses byk2 kali sepjg trip to Singapore.

mbe org len suka advnture, berjln2 kt negara org without map. during my trip to Singapore, byk jmp backpackers & they hv maps 2go around d country. i tergolong dlm kelompok yg sma, map mmg penting pd i. xperlu nk kna hebat sgt tau exact location korg dlm map ktne. cukup la kalo nama jln/bgnn/facilities berhmpirn dgn lokasi korg berdiri tu de display dlm map. then u can try 2figure out d direction and get d easiest/shortest route 2where u wanna go. kalo dh xtau sgt, ty je org. itulah gunanye cikgu2 ajr gna PLEASE and THANK YOU supaya korg leh ty "can u show me d direction to Arab Street PLEASE?" & then say "THANK YOU" bila org tu dh bg jwpn. ingat, even if org tu ckp dia xtau, tetap ckp "THANK YOU" okeh... berbudi bahasa amalan kita =)

restrooms

i've been to several countries yg kemudahan toilet x mcm kt Msia. even if xde hose kt toilet KLCC, atleast still ada air utk menyucikn diri. tp kt negara2 yg i pnah g (othr than indonesia), paip air mmg xde dlm toilet but they provide tissue. so, kita kna lbh bersedia dgn botol air mineral yg kecik tu dlm beg SETIAP MASA. if yg tgh "bulan mengambang", sure suspen kn bila masuk toilet tgk2 xde paip/air. kt Singapore, ada certain toilet ada paip/air dlm toilet. tp kebanyakannye xde. so, standby la botol air mineral dlm beg ye.

Kiblah compass

i brought along my own kiblah compass during my visit to SG (and also last visit to Melb). dh tntu2 dlm hotel xde kiblah direction, that's y better 2bring your own. lgpn kn senang if let say dh terdesak nk kna smyg dlm fitting room or kt dpn tmn bunga (cnthnye). tp bw kiblah compass je xcukup if korg x check dulu reading for kiblah direction b4 your trip.

pamphlets

once u reach your hotel, amik je pamphlets apa yg hotel tu display. sometimes good deals/packages being offered during your stay. walaupn dpt discount SGD3 je (cnthnye), a discount is still a discount =) bila g tourist attrctions pn, amik je apa pamphlets yg ada kt entrance/ticket counter (mcm kt Universal Studio). u'll find useful info yg akn senangkn korg dlm pamphlets (cnthnye ktne nk dpt mknan halal kt Universal Studio). bila dh nak blk kmpg halaman/tnh tumpah darah sndiri, tgglkn je pamphlets tu kt bilik hotel if korg rs dh xnk lg. or, kalo baik hati, leh bg kt kwn2/sanak sedara yg de possibility akn g negara tu.

i guess that's about all. kalo de persoalan lnjt, leh tanya. if i tau jwb, i jwb. if x, i'll ask my talian hayats but kna bersabar cz diorg lmbt sket reply/bg feedback. i enjoy my trip to Singapore. hope u do too. bye.

2012's trip - Singapore (Pt. 4)

final day at Singapore, we got up and readied early cz there's another place that we planned to go to. if x g tmpt ni, mcm x sah la gi Spore, hahaha... tu yg i rs la. d nite b4 mmg dh passed by d area. tp setakat passed by je & x turun bergmbr, mmg xsah. lgpn it's a different view altogether when we arrived at the place in the morning. the place i'm talking about... Merlion Park =)

when we decided to go to Singapore, i dh berangan mmg ni kna jd one of the must-visit places. it seems like bkn i je yg beriye nk g tmpt ni. by d time we arrived at d park (arnd 9.15 a.m.), d place is already crowded with tourists. 2go to d Merlion Park, u can take d MRT and stop at Raffles Place. it's d 2nd stop if u take d MRT fr Bugis station (d nearest 2 our hotel). d Singapore tourist pass dh xvalid cz it's already our 4th day at Singapore, so we had 2purchase d MRT card. fr d Raffles Place station, it's actually very near 2 d park, if u got d correct direction, hahaha. leh je gna jln bwh tanah, lalu kt hotel (Fullerton Hotel), then dh smpi kt seberang sna... sgt dkt sbnrnye nk g Merlion Park tu. tp agk kurg bijak cari laluan terdkt, we ended up berjln lbh jauh & kt area yg lbh pns, huhuhu...

from Merlion Park, u can actually see other landmarks... look across & u can find Marina Bay Sands and Singapore Flyer. one of d challenges in the Amazing Race Asia was done at Marina Bay Sands. look across to another direction & u can see d Esplanade.

we didn't take our breakfast b4 leaving d hotel to d Merlion Park (hence, d problem with finding d easiest route/direction, hahaha). u can just walk 2 d nearest Coffee Bean 2get ur breakfast. iye, usaha reduce caffeine intake sejak setahun lps sia-sia cz everyday mnm coffee/nescafe kt Singapore ni.

we rushed back 2d hotel after dh puas2 bergmbr dpn Merlion (both d big and d mini Merlion). checked out from hotel & trus g airport naik MRT lg. Changi Airport is d 10th station (last station of d East West Line) if u take d MRT fr Bugis station. tp kna turun&tkr tren smwhere near d end of d route, cm knsp naik STAR & turun kt station Chan Sow Lin la. airport pn cntk, no wonder Singaporean spend their time at d airport on weekends (selain Orchard Road) cz dh xtau pe aktiviti lg nk buat. ini fkta okeh, bkn rekaan. fact given by talian hayat i.

sedih cz dh tamat pengembaraan holiday to Singapore. a holiday that was originally included in 2011's target of places to visit. nsb baik gk g thn ni. i guess i wouldnt b getting as much help if i were 2go on a holiday to Singapore last year. Singapore, u gave me great experiences & much fun. hope 2come back again & go to d other places that i didn't manage 2go during this trip. i've already received suggestions from one talian hayat to go to Marina Bay Sands (not d Casino part, please) & get on d Singapore flyer & go 2d East Coast Park (we passed by d park on our way 2d hotel after arriving. really beautiful park) d next time i come 2 Singapore. ye Singapore... i nak dtg lg lain kali. bye.

2012's trip - Singapore (Pt. 3)

3rd day kt Spore xde la bgn&siap2 seawal cm bgn 2nd day msa nk g Universal Studio. distime, relax sket cz mengumpul tenaga smula. activity utk 3rd day dimulakan dgn visit MEMA (Maritime Experiential Museum & Aquarium), also located at Sentosa island (in fact, it's next to USS actually). therefore, pg2 lg menuju ke Vivocity lg to experience different mode of transportation to Sentosa island

2nd day to Sentosa

Destination: MEMA & Underwater World
Transportation: Bus RWS8 (bus stop outside VivoCity)
Ticket: SGD2 (return ticket)

we had breakfast at the Chicken Rice Shop. yes, d same Chicken Rice Shop that we have in Malaysia. halal sign available, xde la mushkilah nk mkn.

after that, waited for the RWS8 bus outside VivoCity building. it's not that far actually from VivoCity to Sentosa by bus, tp cz kna wt U-turn, so terasa cm jauh sket la. but worry not, traffic is always smooth. our 1st destination at Sentosa - MEMA. tmpt ni mmg la muzium, tp menarik. it's a museum of the history of trade pd zmn kegemilangan laluan sutera dulu. we were given a small passport-like book, kt each station/country leh stamped utk bukti kita dh tgk exhibition at that particular country. we have:-

Next destination adalah ke Underwater World. ini mcm Aquaria KLCC (and Underwater World Langkawi?). to go to Underwater World from MEMA (at dResort World), u can take the bus (red or blue line) at d designated are. and it's FREE!!! suka x? penjimatan di situ. and we took d red line, stopped btul2 dpn Underwater World py entrance. 
  

menariknye tmpt ni, apart from leh sentuh2 ikan dlm kolam & seeing all those weird looking underwater fish/creatures/species, adalah cz they have Dolphins and Sea Lion show. we managed to catch d show. utk yg xrisau takut tkna tempias2 basah, duduk la jauh sket dr kolam... mcm kami...

just like other tourist attractions, Underwater World ni pn de jual mcm2 souvenirs. sila beli jika berminat. jika x, leh cuci mata je. before we took d bus back to Resort World (the point for buses to VivoCity), stopped by for drinks at Delifrance. dpn dgn Underwater World ni je. tak jauh pn. Delifrance ni sebelah dgn Siloso beach and we walked to d beach utk bergmbr2 & just to kill time b4 going back to d city. lgpn dh alang2 smpi, baik la g melwt semua yg dpt. nk dtg lg len kali, ntah x tentu bila. u can take d tram/cycle/walk 2go around d beach. many activities u can do here...main basketball, beach volleyball, try d flying trapeze or just take crazy pictures like us =)

2012's trip - Singapore (Pt. 2)

2nd day at Singapore was spent at d Universal Studio. we've already bought a package for Universal Studio + MEMA (both at Sentosa island) tickets online. therefore no need to queue for the ticket anymore (and yes, confirm leh masuk cz ko mmg dh de tiket). & memandangkn nk spend seharian kt Universal Studio, so kna dtg Sentosa island lg skali for another day utk ke MEMA. therefore we decided to try different mode of trasportation to reach there on both days.

1st day to Sentosa

Destination: Universal Studio

Transportation: Sentosa Express (at Sentosa Station, VivoCity)

if u wanna go via Sentosa Express, d ticket is SG3 (return ticket) and board it at Sentosa Station (VivoCity L3). kalo surf website USS, akn dpt this detail (plus other details on how to go to Sentosa island). dinasihatkn book tiket awl2 or try get an online deal (like us) so that anda2 mmg confirm2 leh masuk (& x nanges gigit jari cz tetiba dh xde tiket masa korg smpi dpn kaunter). if dh Public Holiday pjg kt Msia, mustahil la tmpt ni xpenuh. x caye?

the USS is divided into seven sections (Hollywood, Madagascar, Far Far Away, The Lost World, Ancient Egypt, Sci-Fi City, and New York), each with different attractions, merchandise stores and restaurants. once korg dh masuk to USS, don't forget to get the pamphlets. pamphlets dia sgt lgkp, showing the map of the seven sections and all facilities available (surau included). most importantly, utk org cm i yg perut xleh cntrl lapar ni, all d halal restaurants are shown on the map dlm pamphlet tu. so, penting ni... kna amik pamphlet, ok. besides d pamphlet, don't forget to grab the list of shows available on that day. korg leh bajet timing nk queue utk main then berlari2 la ke tmpt nk tgk show yg korg suka. among the attractions yg i suka:

we enjoyed the Shrek 4D show. interesting. seronok. bes giller =) u'll get the special 4D glasses utk dptkn effect sebenar. reminder eh, utk sape2 yg rs rimas kena tempias bersin in that show, sila cover muka anda dgn kain/tisu siap2 once u have been seated. utk ibu mengandung or yg de masalah kesihatan pn leh tgk as there'll b special seating area for these groups. show lain yg menarik yg i suka adalah:-

all merchandise stores sell interesting stuffs, depending on which section it's located. u can get it for yourself (bukti anda g USS) or can get it for friends/families/dear one. if nk rs feel2 pgg Oscar konon menang Best Actress ke, u can get it at one of the merchandise stores at Hollywood section.

when u r at USS, don't forget to pose with the familiar characters. tak dpt bergmbr dgn original cast pn, dpt bergmbr dgn look-alike pn, jadilah =)

  

tp yg agk scary, ini...

kalo xnk beratur pjg 2wait for d rides and/or shows, i suggest u come during wktu2 pelik... jgn la dtg msa long holiday cm i g br ni. we didn't try all rides. tp kalo jns org yg suka nk try semua rides and ada tu nk kna tgg smpi 45 minit b4 leh masuk (yeah, we didn't try d Transformers ride cz nk kna tgg smpi 45minit), agk tercbr la jugak kesabaran kot. yg jenuhnye cz nk kna queue, main tu xsmpi pn 5minit. msa queue tu jgn la nk prasan "ala, simple je nk main ni. xmencabar pun". we tried one ride, the "Accelerator"... msa queue, dlm ati terdetik rs "huh, cenggini je ke? apa yg mencabarnye?!!" dh kt dlm seat tu br tau pening tak pening bila menda tu pusing, hahahaha....

all in all, Universal Studio Singapore best. & fun. & sgt memberi rs cm jd budak2 blk smula, hahaha. utk org yg xpenah g Universal Studio/Disneyland kt tmpt lain (mcm i), this would be d closest i can get to have a feeling of going to Hong Kong Disneyland, cnthnye =)

blk ke hotel, kaki cm nk tercabut. after mgrb, bersiap2 & gagahkn diri berjln to Bugis Street again. we wanted to see Bugis Street at night & check out what things that we can buy there. ultimate goal adalah utk cari food. tetap gk x jmp kedai mkn org kitrg. x sanggup dh nk jln kaki lg to Arab Street (like d day b4), so menggunakan talian hayat utk tau ktne nearest tmpt yg rs2nye ada restaurant yg kitrg lh mkn. akhirnye tmpt mkn cuma seberang jln je. it's called Bugis Junction, a shopping mall actually, yg ada foodcourt & ada aunty ni jual Nasik Padang (halal). nsb baik!!! if x, kebuloq & nanges b4 tido, hahaha...

2012's trip - Singapore (Pt. 1)

SINGAPORE!!!

yeah, percutian yg dh diidam2kn sejak thn lps menjd kenyataan thn ni. "Holiday - Singapore" dh dlm target thn 2011 lg, tp cz xde kesempatan nk g, kna carry forward thn ni, 2012. skrg dh leh mark DONE kt sblh "Holiday - Singapore" dlm senarai thn 2012.

percutian dimulakan dgn bgn seawal kul4 pg on Sunday & bersiap cpt cz flight kul7.20a.m. smpi airport dh awl, masuk flight dh OK, tetiba pilot announced dat there was technicl problem & kna turun. alamaaakkk, spoil mood teruja. perut pn dh vibrate mntk mkn wpun dh bfast kt umah kul4.30 pg mkn roti telur 2 keping & baked beans. kt airport pn mkn seketul nugget aym ala2 xbrapa masak. by d time kul7.30 dgr announcemnt kna turun dr flight rs cm xpuas ati cz harapn nk smpi awal&mkn tidak kesampaian. owh ye, i py thp perut vibrate bila lpr sgt teruk. Xsempat nk smpi kedai mkn, sure dh kuar lagu pop, rock, keroncong, rap & apa segala. maka persediaan awl adalah pntg & i bw 1pack biskut Tiger (10 small packs inside), kek apollo 1 kotak (8 small packs inside), dan bun krim 4 ketul. leh nyanyi lagu Vitagen skrg - "sayangi perut anda setiap hari" :)

smpi kt Changi airport, took a shuttle straight to d hotel (SGD9/person). since we arrived at the hotel earlier than the check-in time, org hotel srh tgglkn beg&jln2 dulu& come back in another 2hours. memulakan lgkh to d nearest shopping area - Bugis Street. utk yg xpenah g, meh i describe cmne tmpt ni (utk yg dh pnah g, leh skip this description). Bugis Street ni cm kedai2 kt Sg. Wang la. byk kedai2 kecik2 jual souvenirs, bags, baju2, shoes, accessories, etc. tp utk kitrg nk mkn, xjmp tmpt la plak. i mean, kedai mkn yg halal. so kuar dr this shopping area & ikut je ke mana haluan kaki nk bw & finally jmp sorg Malaysian & we asked her where to get food. lps dh dpt direction, off we walked to Arab Street. jauh rupanye weh dgn berjln kaki. perut pn dh fed-up vibrate tp stil xdpt mknan, so perut trus diam membisu. smpi kt Arab Street, cari la restaurant Zamzam yg akak tu describe as best food so far. Zamzam ni kedai mamak. utk org cm i yg mkn kedai mamak, masuk je. utk kwn i yg sama2 with this trip tp kt Msia xmasuk kedai mamak, harus la menggagahkn diri utk mkn. or else, xtau bila lg dpt jmp food aftr that. portion nasik yg kedai ni bg mmg byk giller. wpun perut i vibrate melampau cz lpr b4 dpt food, tp kapasiti yg leh muat sikit je, so mkn pn xabis. tp stil kenyaaaannggg, *burp*... alhamdulillah.

bak kata lagu masa kecik2 dulu, "kenyang perut suka hati". jd dgn sukahati melangkah berjln smula blk hotel lps dh puas mkn nasik briyani ayam. smpi kt hotel, siap2 utk ke destinasi pertama - Orchard Road. (again, utk yg dh pnah g, leh skip this description). Orchard Road ni kwsn shopping cm area2 Bukit Bintang or Pavillion... designers boutique berlambak!!! it's a long stretch & kt tepi2 tu byk org berniaga eskrem (nyum, nyum), org wt show (belly-dancing, hulla hoop, singing, etc2). to describe Orchard Road in one word - "HAPPENING".

kwn2 sggst i masuk kedai2 kt Orchard Road ni. if xnk beli pn xpe, leh window shop, just hang out & see & feel d way Sporean spend their Sundays. then u can start thinking, how much do they earn at Spore smpi lh menabur duit kt designers' boutique tnpa nk pkir pjg. there r items that r cheaper than in our country. mcm perfume. or electrical items. or camera. or handbag (if u convert it to our currency, it's stil slightly cheaper than in msia). kalau nk beli, silakan. kalo just nk wondering around d city cm i & then melepet kt Coffee Bean cz kaki skt dh berjln kaki ntah brp jauh, boleh jugak. worry not cz halal labels are displayed at all halal restaurants.

after Coffee Bean, stopped by at several shops along d corridor utk bergmbr/mencuci mata tgk2 brg and beli brg. tp bkn i la yg membeli, hehehe. i mmg asal2nye xde plan nk beli brg. so, walking along d Orchard Road 2see Singaporean spend their day/money sudah memadai.

next, went to the Night Safari. memndgkn tmptnye agk jauh, dgn berhati2 bc map&pamphlets & tgk d easiest MRT stop utk g Night Safari. but d 1st stop we went to xde bus on that day (xphm knp xde bus sedangkn dlm pamphlet dh ckp can get the bus from dat stop on Sundays). jd kna naik MRT lg skali & took d bus from there to Night Safari. d experience there mmg best. tp utk yg nk amik2 gmbr, u cant use d flash. krg xpasal2 je binatang lari (or worst, terkam the tram. oh nooooo!!!) cz terkejut npk flash. there'll be a guide on each tram who'll provide descriptions about the animals.

b4 we went back to d hotel, had dinner kt restaurant dlm Night Safari ni. i had laksa yg menyelerakan, together with apple juice yg juga menyelerakan. terbaeeekkkk =) cukup la kenyang & hati pn gmbira dpt mkn laksa sesedap tu.

oh yeah, admission to Night Safari is SGD32. tp if u r a tourist & u bring a Night Safari pamphlet from your hotel & not forgetting your pasport as well, u r entitled for SGD3 discount ok. but the promotion ends 31 March 2012 ye. so what r u waiting for... cpt book ticket skrg... skrg jugak!!!
